Lab Results in Personal Health Records

Lab results are automatically sent as part of personal health records (PHR) after they are reviewed and signed off by the provider. PHRs are sent to a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account in the following scenarios: When a patient requests PHRs from the portal When a patient manually requests PHRs from NextGen® PxP Portal, they receive either a full PHR or an encounter-based PHR depending on the date range they select. The PHR document contains data from all encounters whether the encounters are locked or unlocked. Manually-requested PHRs display all signed-off lab results. When a patient completes enrollment in the portal When a patient's enrollment is complete, they receive full PHR. Full PHRs display all signed-off lab results. Review Historical Data of Lab Result Documents

When you send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal from the Orders module, the system records the following information: Comments sent with lab results Send date of the document User who sent the results Tests included in the document With a NextGen® Enterprise EHR chart displaying, open the Orders module. Select the Orders Summary tab. and then select an order. Expand Results (reported results - formatted) to select the Formatted Results tab. Send Radiology Results

When you sign off and send a radiology result to NextGen® PxP Portal, only the interpretation text with the formatted result is sent to the portal. Images are not included. A patient who wants to view the images associated with their radiology result cannot do so in the PHR because the images are treated as part of a document along with comments, if any exist. Patients must access the images from the NextGen® PxP Portal. In the Encounter History tab, open the encounter. Select the Image Options button, and then select Send to Patient Portal. If the intended recipient is in one of the pending enrollment statuses, a message indicates that enrollment is not complete and they cannot view the documents. Send Lab Results from the PAQ

Lab results can be signed-off on and sent without waiting for Personal Health Records (PHR) to be generated and sent. All confidential lab results are excluded when lab results are sent to the NextGen® PxP Portal. For more information on orders and lab results, visit NextGen Healthcare Success Community to download the latest Orders Module User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR document. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select the PAQ button. The Workflow window opens. Select the Provider Approval Queue tab. From the Pending list, select the lab order to send to NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: The Enrolled with a check mark icon indicates that the patient has completed enrollment. If the patient is a dependent, the guardian must have completed enrollment.
