When you send lab results to
NextGen® PxP Portal
from the
Orders
module, the system records the following information:
Comments sent with lab results
Send date of the document
User who sent the results
Tests included in the document
With a
NextGen® Enterprise EHR
chart displaying, open the
Orders
module.
Select the
Orders Summary
tab. and then select an order.
Expand
Results (reported results - formatted)
to select the
Formatted Results
tab.
Select the arrow next to
Patient Portal
, and then select
Patient Portal History Details
.
Review the details and close the window.

Sending Lab Results with the Orders Module or the Provider Approval Queue Module
Lab results can be signed-off on and sent from the Orders module or the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) module to a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account without waiting for Personal Health Records (PHR) to be generated and sent. To send lab results as documents from these modules to a NextGen® PxP Portal account, the lab results must be already signed off and the patient must already be enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. All confidential lab results are excluded when lab results are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: Patients can open a PHR and view lab results in the Results section. Lab Results
This section provides information about how lab results are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Lab Results in Personal Health Records Lab results are sent to patients along with their personal health records. Patients can view or request these results by using NextGen® PxP Portal. Sending Lab Results with the Orders Module or the Provider Approval Queue Module Review Historical Data of Lab Result Documents You can view lab results and the associated metadata sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Send Radiology Results While radiology results can be sent to the NextGen® PxP Portal, only certain information from a radiology result is sent and images are excluded.

Send Lab Results from the Orders Module
Before you begin If you are sending corrected results, ensure that the result status is set as: Corrected. For more information on result statuses, visit NextGen Healthcare Success Community to download the latest Orders Module User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Physicians can sign off on and send the lab or radiology test results directly from the Orders or PAQ modules to the NextGen® PxP Portal using NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Lab results can be signed-off on and sent without waiting for Personal Health Records (PHR) to be generated and sent. All confidential lab results are excluded when lab results are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. View the Status of Exported Laboratory Results
After you export any laboratory results, you can view the status of exported results in the Patient Portal Document History window. A patient can view the exported results on the Home page or Inbox in NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module. On the Orders Summary tab, expand Results (reported results - formatted) and select Patient Portal History Details from the Patient Portal list. The Patient Portal Document History window opens and displays the comments associated with the results and indicates if the patient has viewed the laboratory results on the NextGen® PxP Portal Home page. Export Laboratory Results
You can export completed and signed-off laboratory results along with comments to NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module. On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed and signed-off laboratory order and expand Results (reported results - formatted). Select Patient Portal. The Patient Portal Document Export window opens, where you can add comments or special instructions to send along with the laboratory results. Select Send. The Sent confirmation window opens.
