The Configuration Guide for NextGen® Orthopedic Suite, 80.2.14.0 explains how to configure various settings for NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. This document is intended for the staff who are responsible for maintaining the configuration settings.

Configuring Practice Settings

You can configure global settings and other preferences for your practice. You can use the Practice Configuration template to configure settings for your practice. The Practice Configuration template is specific to NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. Practice Configuration template The following table describes the panels on the Practice Configuration template. Panel Description Global Settings You can set preferences that are used throughout the templates of NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. E&M Coding You can configure an effective date for 2023 guidelines on evaluation and management (E&M) coding. The 2023 guidelines for E&M coding go into effect on January 1, 2023, and you can change the effective date as needed. Procedures Configuration

You can build procedure pages and groups in the Common Procedure Configuration practice template. These pages are accessed throughout the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite templates to add procedures to the patient’s history. You can set default pages based on the rendering provider or practice, and you can also copy procedure pages. Tasking Configuration

You can setup and maintain all the tasking (both manual and automatic) on the Tasking Configuration practice template. The top grid of the template displays all the built tasks and all the data associated with them. This grid shows both manual tasks and tasks that are sent automatically based on triggers set in specific template fields.
