Submitting Charges to Finalize a Visit

You can enter the visit details, today's diagnoses, and procedures to submit charges and finalize visit. You can use various sections on the Finalize Visit template to add data and submit charges for finalizing a visit. In the Non-Billable & Initial Fracture Care grid, you can select the appropriate option for the current workflow to add it to the coding grid. When you select any option except No services rendered in the Non-Billable & Initial Fracture Care grid, the IORTSfinalize Po window opens for entering the dictation used for any part of the visit. If dictation is not configured for the provider or the practice, the IORTSfinalize Po window does not open. For the options that have associated task configured, the Add New Task window opens before the IORTSfinalize Po window. After you assign the task to the desired user or work group and close the Add New Task window, the IORTSfinalize Po window opens. Check Out Template

The Check Out template walks you through scheduling information from the patient visit: E & M Information displays the following: Status of the visit code on the Finalize Visit template and the visit type. Nurse case manager, if it was documented on the Check In template. Co-pay information. Cash Items- displays information from the Cash Supplies template and the green check mark indicates supplies were given and the total cost. Medications Prescribed or Renewed Today- displays medications entered in the current encounter. Next Visit Information- displays information from the encounter if the Upload NV button was selected on the Billable Visit, Fracture Care, or Non-Billable template. This informs staff to schedule an appointment in the NextGen® Enterprise PM. When you enter the Appt date, the content in the Details in EPM Appt are sent to the appointment details in the NextGen® Enterprise PM. Send a Task

The Finalize Visit template has a tasking section that you can use to communicate with users and assign tasks to users. You can also configure tasks that are automatically sent to clinical staff, billing, IT, providers, and transcription. Task icons on the Finalize Visit template On the Finalize Visit template, enter the Task Comments. Click the icon for the desired Task To group. Generate Documents and Letters on the Finalize Visit Template

You can generate documents and letters on the Finalize Visit template. After generating the documents, you can use the Document Generation Log to record who generated documents and the CC’d or Generated for fields to indicate for whom they were generated. On the Finalize Visit template, click the document icon next to the desired document or letter. In the Document Generation Log select the Generated By check box to record the date, time, and the current user's name. Enter who the document was generated for in the CC’d or Generated for field. Finalize Template

The Finalize template enables the provider to calculate all the elements that were documented in the Intake, Histories, and SOAP tabs, select the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code level for the visit, and submit the E&M coding to the Superbill module. Parent topic: Provider Workflow

Letters and Reports on the Finalize Visit Template

The Finalize Visit template has links to letters, office notes, and reports. The Radiology Report displays all non-X-ray orders that have been performed and interpreted on today's encounter. The X-ray Report displays all x-ray tests that have been performed and interpreted on today’s encounter on the Radiology Order Management template. There is also a Document Generation Log, carbon copy provider fields, Electronic Clinical Summary, and NextGen Portal Registration sections. You can click the report and letter icons to generate documents. The Electronic Clinical Summary and NextGen Portal Registration selections carry forward if entered on the Intake template.
