Access the Cast and Wound Care Template

Enter the Physical Exam for Cast and Wound Care

Use the Physical Exam section on the Cast/Wound Care template to document issues with the cast area as well as what was done for the new cast, splint, or brace. On the Home template, click the Cast/Wound Care link. The Cast/Wound Care template opens. Physical Exam panel on the Cast/Wound Care template To enter exam information, select the appropriate check boxes, as well as which provider the patient was seen by. Document what was done to the cast, splint, or brace by selecting the appropriate fields. Type any additional information in the notes section. Document Patient History for Pre-Operative Visits

You can document patient history such as surgery information, medications, allergies, and medical and surgical histories for pre-operative visits. On the NB Preop v5 template, in the History panel, click the Get button. History panel on the NB Preop V5 template The surgery window opens displaying all surgery encounters with planned procedures for the patient. Select an encounter from the surgery window, and click OK. The following details from the selected encounter are automatically filled in the corresponding fields. The options in the Pre-Surgical Checklist section are automatically updated from the Surgery Sched template on the selected encounter. Cast and Wound Care Workflow

You can document a patient's history, physical exams, basic assessment, and plan for the cast and wound care. The providers and clinical staff can use the Cast/Wound Care template to document the details of the cast and wound care without using the Billable Visit and Non Billable Visit templates. Surgical History of Patients

You can document a patient's surgical history and orthopedic surgical history. You can use the following sections on the Intake template to document and view the surgical procedures performed for the patient. Orthopedic Surgical History. You can document and view the orthopedic-specific procedures performed for the patient. Surgical History. You can document and view all other surgical procedures performed for the patient. These sections are shared with several templates of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite, and the grids in these sections display the date of surgery, global date, side, and description. The grids are sorted by DOS column, and the date of surgery can be entered in the MM/DD/YYYY, MM/YYYY, or YYYY formats. To enter a global date, the date of surgery must be in the MM/DD/YYYY format. The Histories template enables you to document a patient's social history, problem list, medical or surgical history, diagnostic study history, and family history.
