Finalize Template

The Finalize template allows the provider to calculate all of the elements that were documented in the Intake, Histories, and SOAP tabs, select the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code level for the visit, and submit the E&M coding to the Superbill module. Patient's General Information on Finalize You can view the general details related to finalizing the workflow of the patient in the General panel. Patient's Assessments on Finalize You can view, add, or edit patient assessments in the Today's Assessment panel. Provider Sign Off E and M Level Summary You can view the summary of a patient's history, exam levels, and coding points for the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code calculation under the 95 or 97 Coding Guidelines in the E&M Level Summary panel. Manage Visit Code Modifiers for Virtual Visit Billing

You can add or edit the visit code modifiers for virtual visit billing. After you have selected a visit code in the Virtual Visit Billing panel of the Finalize template, modifier codes are added to the visit code based on the billing rules configured using Virtual Visit Payer Configuration. You can edit the modifier codes that appear and add modifier codes. You can use up to two modifier codes for each visit code. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Finalize template. Expand the Virtual Visit Billing panel. To add a modifier, select the blank modifier field below the visit code, select the modifier and then select OK. The selected modifier is added to the modifier field. To edit a modifier, select the modifier field below the visit code, select the modifier, and select OK. Generate the E&M Code

In the lower part of the Assessment and Plan panel, click the E&M Key button to generate the E&M code. This searches the entire visit, the History, Exam and Assessment and Plan sections, verifying what information has been entered (noting the green indicators), to determine a suggested E&M code. E and M code on the Billable Visit template The system gives a value (or points) for History, Exam, and MDM, and a Final Code based on the information documented. Note: If you update histories, exams or MDM after clicking the E&M Key button, click the button again to update the code. Admin Override Settings

You can manage administrative override permission for the security groups in the Admin Override panel of the Practice Configuration template. You can also view following logs in the above panel. Admin Override charge clearing log: Displays the charges that are revised by providers after being submitted. You can also filter the charges by encounter number. E&M Override Log: Displays the encounters for which suggested E&M codes are revised on the Finalize Visit template. You can filter the entries by encounter number. Overview of the Finalize Template Workflow

You can complete the encounter workflow using the Finalize template. The template enables you to do the following: Calculate all the elements documented in the Intake, Histories, and SOAP templates.
