Add an Alert

You can add alerts for preregistration templates based on the chief complaints and financial class of the encounter-level insurance. The alerts added on the Billing Configuration practice template appear on the following preregistration templates, based on the configuration. Update an Alert

You can edit or delete an existing alert. On the Billing Configuration practice template, expand the Alerts panel. Select an alert from the grid. The details of selected alert appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. To edit the alert, make changes to the text in the fields as needed, and then click Update. To delete the alert, click Delete. Note: The alert appears based on the primary insurance listed on the encounter. If there is an alert configured for all payers within a financial class (*), this overrides what the individual payer has configured for that chief complaint. Parent topic: Alerts Configuration

Preregistration Workflow

You can only initiate the preregistration workflow to document the details of the patient before their visit to the office. The preregistration workflow is to be performed before a patient visit the office. For example, a phone nurse contacts the patient to perform preregistration before the appointment. You can open the preregistration workflow templates using the Pre Reg link on the Home template. The following table describes the templates used in this workflow. Template Description Pre Reg To document the chief complaints, appointment details, patient demographics, and insurance details. You can also generate letters for preregistration of patients. Clinical Approval To document the clinical approval requirements. Billing Approval To document the billing approval requirements. Billing Approval Template

The Billing Approval template documents any billing approval requirements. If a pre-authorization is required, or specific information regarding a work comp claim or auto liability claim, this authorization information can be tracked on this template. This template consists of three panels: Demographic- This panel contains the patient’s contact information and best times to reach the patient. This information carries forward from the Pre Reg template but can be edited here if needed. The patient status will pull over from NextGen® Enterprise PM and is read-only. Insurance-The Insurance panel pulls insurance information from the encounter. This information is read-only and cannot be updated from this panel. There are places for users to record pre-authorization information and details regarding that information for work comp, auto/liability, self-pay, care source, and Misc.
