Enter Ophthalmic Chief Complaints
  Technicians can document HPI details in the Technician Conversation section of the Generic HPI - OPH template for ophthalmic complaints except for retina. 
  
 
 Note: You must document the retina chief complaint on the Retina History of Present Illness - OPH template.
  
- On the Reason for Visit panel, do one of the following to open the Generic HPI - OPH template:
   
- Click a chief complaint in the left pane.
 - Select a chief complaint in the Reason for Visit/History of Present Illness grid.
 
The Generic HPI - OPH template opens with the chief complaints appearing in the Chief complaint details grid. - Select a chief complaint in the Chief complaints details grid. 
   The chief complaint fills the Concern(s) field. The CC details completed by field displays the current user's name.Note: If you select retina from the Chief complaints details grid, the system displays a message above the grid and changes the fields on the HPI Generic OPH template to read-only
 - In the Technician Conversation section, click one or more of the following HPI details links and select a value from the list.
   
- Location
 - Duration
 - Frequency
 - Onset
 - VA affected
 - Timing
 - Severity
 - Quality
 - Context
 - Assoc Sx
 - Pertinent neg
 - Previously TX
 
The system builds a summary statement in the Chief complaint details field and automatically selects the HPI detail link's corresponding check box to indicate data is present. - Enter additional details in the field or click My Phrases to edit the summary statement.
 - Click Update. 
   The Chief complaint details for the selected chief complaint are uploaded to the CC Details column of the Chief complaint details grid.
 - Repeat steps 2-5 for all remaining chief complaints listed in the Chief complaint details grid.
 - To add a complaint, click the Concern(s) field, select a chief complaint, and repeat the steps above.
 - Click Close.
