Add an Order

Managing Today's Orders

You can process lab or radiology orders documented by the provider on the My Plan template. You can add and edit an order in the Today's Orders panel. To place any follow-up order, you can use the Follow Up button. Several types of orders are available in the Today's Orders panel. The numbers next to the order types indicate the number of items in the queue for that type of order. In the beginning, you must select the order type, and then you need to select Add or Edit to open the respective order template to add or update the details. To place an order from the Orders Console template, you must select the Enable Order Module check box in the Orders/Plans section on the Practice Configuration template. Edit Orders

You can view, verify, and process orders that have been placed for a patient. The order types include labs, diagnostics, referrals, office services, surgical procedures, follow-ups, medications, patient education, patient instruction, physical therapy, and immunizations. Note: The numbers beside each order type in the left pane indicate the number of orders in the queue. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click the Today's Orders panel. From the left pane, select an order type. Today's Orders In the grid, select a row. To view more details about the selected order or to edit the order, click Edit. Note: Based on the order type you select on the left pane, the application displays the corresponding additional options. Update an Order in the Order Management Panel

Select an order with details that need to be updated in the Order Management grid. The details of the selected order display in the respective fields in the Manage Selected section. If applicable, click the Status (step) field and select the appropriate status from the Select status of referral list. Click the Action/comment field and select a value from the list. Select Edit. After making any necessary changes in the Result/report section, click Update, if applicable. All Order Management template Select Save and then Close.The changes display in the top grid. In the Order Status Detail/actions grid, you can track changes made to orders, including those made by different users, and sort orders by selecting the Order Status Detail/actions option or the Order result edit log option. Update Visit Types
