Additional Visual Acuity Fields

Beginning with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine version 8.3.11, the Use additional visual acuity fields configuration setting is no longer used. By default, all of the visual acuity fields appear on the Visual Acuity extended template, grids, and documents. Since Ophthalmology templates compromise of three different template sets , it is important to know which Home template to use and how to open it. For clients using the Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) templates, there are additional steps for setting up a practice as an Ambulatory Surgical Center. Note: This version of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine includes both the newer framework-based tabbed Ophthalmology templates and the templates for the 10-tab workflow used in previous versions of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, which have been revised to meet Meaningful Use requirements. Reviewing and Updating the Visual Acuity Exam Findings

The Visual Acuity section of the Visual Acuity/Lensometry/Refraction panel displays exam findings for the last five encounters. You can click the Visual Acuity link to add new and review historical exam findings on the Oph EyeTech template. In provider workflow, the visual acuity findings documented by the technician should be reviewed and updated, if appropriate. Visual Acuity findings are documented using serial lists . Findings for an exam parameter are entered, followed by a modifier for the parameter.
