Select a Different First Databank Default Sig

Open NextGen® Mobile. Select a patient, and open the RxDetails view. Select the Sig field.The Edit Sig view opens. View to edit sig To view the First Databank default sig, select the First Databank Default field. To select a different First Databank sig, do the following: Select the First Databank field. Select a sig from the list displaying the results.A message appears stating that you must confirm to customize the sig. Select a Previously Created Customized Sig

If you have previously created custom sigs, you can select one from the list of available custom sigs. Open NextGen® Mobile. Select a patient, and open the RxDetails view. Select the Sig field.The Edit Sig view opens. View to edit sig Select the Custom field, and select the appropriate custom sig from the list displaying the results. Create a Customized Sig

You can create multiple customized sigs. Each customized sig appears on the Custom field list on the Edit Sig view. Open NextGen® Mobile. Select a patient, and open the RxDetails view. Select the Sig field.The Edit Sig view opens. View to edit sig Select Build Sig.The Build Sig view opens. To specify the administration method, select the Admin Method field, and select the desired method from Select Admin Method. To enter the desired quantity, select the Quantity field, and then use the displayed calculator. To specify the unit, select the Units field, and select a unit from Select Unit. To specify the route, select the Route field and select a route from Select Route. Do one of the following: To specify a dose frequency, select Frequency, and enter a dose frequency and the period. For example, 2 per day. In the For field, specify the duration value and unit. For example, 3 weeks. To specify a dose interval, select Interval. In Every, enter a dose interval and the period. Enter a Free-Form Entered Sig

You can enter a free-form sig, entering any text that you want to appear as the sig. Open NextGen® Mobile. Select a patient, and open the RxDetails view. Select the Sig field.The Edit Sig view opens. Complete the Prescription Details

When you prescribe medication for a patient, you can perform the following tasks on the RxDetails view. Calculate the quantity of medication needed based on the start date, stop date, and the Sig. The duration of the medication is calculated automatically. Calculate the stop date based on the quantity, start date, and the Sig. Note: If you select a medication from a medication favorite group, the fields on RxDetails are filled with the corresponding values defined for the group in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If needed, you can edit the fields for your patient on the RxDetails view. Open NextGen® Mobile. Select a medication for the patient. The RxDetails view opens. To change the dosage, do the following: Select the medication name and dosage. The Select Medicine view displays the list of available dosages. Select the desired dosage. The new dosage appears on the RxDetails view. In Quantity, select the field and enter the amount, or select Calculate. Note: On selecting Calculate, NextGen®

Open the SIG Builder

Enter all required medication information. Perform any one of the following: Hover over or select the Add Sig link. Select the automatically populated SIG to change it. Hover over or select the Edit Sig link. The availability of an automatically populated SIG in the advanced SIG builder depends on the information provided by the third party, First Databank. The Sig Builder window opens. Sig Builder window Note: For a pediatric patient, the list is filtered by pediatric SIGs. To clear the existing SIG, select Clear Sig.
