Inactivate an Expiring Medication Alert

You can inactivate any expiring medication alert. This stops the alert from firing and removes it from view when the Active option is selected. Select the entry in the grid. Set an Expiring Medication Alert

Select the field below the DrugName column of the grid. The MLTS MedOnly PL picklist opens, showing all active medications from the Medication Information grid. Select the medication and select OK. Select the field below the Days column and type in the number of days prior to the drug’s expiration date that you want the alert to fire. Select Add to save the entry to the grid. Medication Alert Configuration Panel

Use the Medication Alert Configuration panel to set thresholds for alerts to appear on the Medication Inventory panel header on the Inventory Management template when a medication reaches low quantities or nears expiration. The thresholds also appear on the Low Quantity and Expiring Medication reports. The alerts are based on a specific medication and unit type and are applied to all lot numbers of that medication in inventory. You can set any alert to Inactive status so that it does not appear, and then restore it to Active status at any time. View Inactive Alerts

You can view all inactive alerts for expiring medications. Select the Inactive option above the grid. The grid filters to show all inactive alerts. Parent topic: Inactivate an Expiring Medication Alert

Reactivate an Alert

You can restore an Inactive alert to Active status. Select the Inactive option to view inactive alerts in the grid. Select the alert from the grid. Select Toggle. Activate a Medication

Open the Medication Configuration template. Expand the Medication Dispensing Inventory panel. Select an inactive medication from the grid. The medication information appears in the fields.
