Document the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection Procedure by Scanning the Barcode

You can document the Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) Injection procedure by scanning the barcode printed on the medication package.

You can enter the source, drug, lot number, unit type, expiration date and J-Code for a medications by scanning the barcode. You must select the quantity manually.
  1. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel.
  2. Select the Procedure Type as Injection.

  3. Select the sub-location, if turned on.
  4. Enter the procedure information.
  5. Select Scan Barcode.
  6. Scan the medication barcode printed on the medication package.
    The source, drug, lot number, unit type, expiration date and J-Code fill in.
  7. In the Qty field, select the quantity being given.
  8. Enter all the required kit and PRP information in the appropriate fields.
  9. Select Add/Update.
    The information is saved to the Injections/Aspirations grid.
