Manage Trigger Scripts

The Trigger Script displays a list of NextGen® Enterprise EHR and user-defined trigger scripts. Selecting a trigger script displays the comments related to the script and adds all the scripts defined in the parameters to the grid. You can use the created script from the Trigger Functions icon in the main toolbar. On the main toolbar, select the Trigger Functions icon. The Trigger Scripts window opens. In the Trigger Script list, select the required script. The comments of the script appear. You can select the ellipsis button to add, update, or delete scripts. In the Parameters list, select the required parameter, and then select Apply. The parameter values are updated based on the trigger script selected. In the My Code Snippets list, select the required code snippet, and then select Add Code Snippet. The code snippet is added to the body area. Create a Trigger Script

You can create trigger scripts. On the main toolbar, select the Trigger Functions icon. The Trigger Scripts window opens. Select the ellipsis button next to the Trigger Script list. The Script Creation window opens. In Script Name, enter your name. In Parameters, enter your parameter, select Ref and Value from the list, and then select Add. Note: Parameter name must not start with a number or use an existing name. To clear parameter, select the parameter, and then select Clear. To update parameter, select the parameter, and then select Update. To delete parameter, select the parameter, and then select Delete. In the Template Type Association list, select the type of template. In the Comments box, enter your comments for the script. Select Add. The script is added in the Script Creation grid. A trigger script name must be unique. The added script takes the prefix as NextGen Adaptive Content Engine if application is launched through NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Admin mode, else USR f

Set up Trigger Script Trigger

The Trigger Scripts enables you to create, maintain, and invoke reusable structured code blocks. These structure code blocks can perform all the operations of existing trigger actions. The Template Runtime provides the ability to debug trigger scripts and set break points in trigger scripts, code execution, and examine values. A debug attribute can be set for any Trigger Script trigger. When a trigger with the debug attribute is executed in runtime, the Trigger Script Debugger window displays and execution is paused at the related trigger scripts and then goes through the code execution, examining values, and evaluating code segments. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Trigger Script action. The Trigger Script window opens. In the Function Script Name list, select the required structured code block or script name. The Comments box displays the related comments and the Parameters grid displays the respective parameters. View Trace Triggers

The Trace Triggers function enables you to view the status and properties for each trigger executed on the active template. Select a template in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Execute one or more triggers on the template. From the Main menu, select Tools, and then select Trace Triggers. The Trace Triggers window opens. The Trace Triggers window lists the following information for each trigger: Execution status Template table Trigger field and event Condition Action Parameter Note: If the status of the trigger is Not Executed, the trigger has not met a specified condition. To save the trigger data to a log file, select the Log to File check box. The default file is tracelog.xls. To stop logging the trigger data, clear the Log to File check box. Using Templates

NextGen® Enterprise EHR uses templates to record and store patient demographic and medical information electronically. Templates provide a simple way to enter medical information and compile patient records. All of the data entered into a template can later be used for statistical reports, document generation, and further review of the patient's information. NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers a set of predefined templates known as the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine and enables the creation of user-defined templates by system administrators. Based on the setup of a specific template or trigger, some workflows may follow those in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules (for example, Medications, Procedures, Problems), and some may be specific to the template.
