Setting up Specific Trigger

Remove a Variable

You can remove a variable from the System, Patient, Template or Encounter template's list if not needed. Access the Setup Variables window. Select the System, Patient, Template, or Encounter, which contains the variable you want to remove. A list containing the variable, opens. Select the variable you want to remove, from the list. Update a Variable

You can update the value of the variables added for the templates. Open the Setup Variables window. Select System, Patient, Template or Encounter. A list containing the variable, opens. Select the variable from the list you want to update. Select Update to save the changes. The updated variables appear in the selected template's list. Set Up Variables

You can add, update, or remove the variables. You can use the Script It button in the Setup Variables window to create the code snippet for the selected variable. In the Trigger Scripts, you can copy the code snippet to the clipboard and paste into a trigger script. To open the Setup Variables window, do one of the following: On the Main toolbar, select Variables. In the Trigger Info or Assign Field Value window, right-click a variable in the Variables list, and then select Setup Variables. Right-click anywhere on the body of a template and then select Variables from the shortcut menu. The Setup Variable window opens, with four color-coded tabs that list existing System (pink), Patient (green), Template (blue), and Encounter (purple) variables. From the Scope list, select System, Patient, Template, or Encounter. Note: To create a Template variable, you must open an existing template before opening the Setup Variables window. Otherwise, the Template option does not appear in Scope list.

Set up Patient Item Trigger

The Patient Item action launches an existing patient chart document or image by its ID for quick viewing without searching the patient's encounter tree. The item can be under any locked or open encounter on the patient's chart. You can launch the following types of patient items: Document Email Document Management (ICS) image Image Patient Education topic Report To use the Patient Item trigger, set up another trigger to assign the specific patient encounter item ID to a template variable or field. For example, you can create a patient document ID variable and a Summary Sheet that displays patient document information. You can then assign the item ID from a Row Selected event/Assign Field Value trigger on the Summary Sheet to the patient document ID variable. You can place the Patient Item trigger on a Medical Records (MR) template, Group MR template or a Sidebar template. Patient Demographic Template

You can configure Patient Demographics template related details in the Patient Demographic Template section. Patient Demographic Template section The Patient Demographic Template section enables you to configure the following: Patient Checked In options - If you select email, tasking, or pt. tracking option, Patient Checked In on the Patient Demographics template opens the corresponding template. For example, if you select pt. tracking option, the system opens the Patient Tracking template from Patient Checked In.
