Set up Modify Patient Trigger

The Modify Patient action triggers the display of the Update Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. From the Modify Patient Information window, you can edit patient demographics and other information. The History tab of the window lists the changes you make. If you change the patient's name, the new name appears on the Title bar of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window. The Title bar also displays changes to the patient's date of birth, medical record number, gender, and Social Security number if practice preferences are set to display these fields. A Modify Patient option is also available on the File menu in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. Modify Patient Information in NextGen® Enterprise EHR

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Patient icon or select File > Select Patient. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria and selectFind. TheMatching Recordslist displays the records that meet the search criteria. Right-click the desired patient and select Open from the menu. The Modify Patient Information window opens displaying the demographic information of the selected patient. Modify the fields as required and selectOKto save the changes. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > New > Person. The People Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria and selectFind. Add Patient Demographic Information

You can add demographic details of a patient on the Patient Demographics template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Patient Demographics template, and then expand the Patient Information panel. Patient Information Enter values for the following fields: State of birth Country of birth Blood type Enter information in the Race and Ethnicity fields. Note: You can add multiple values for race and ethnicity. To enter the patient's social security number, preferred language, and marital status on the Modify Patient Information template, select the corresponding fields.The Modify Patient Information window opens. The social security, preferred language, and marital status information you update in the Modify Patient Information window automatically appears in the Patient Information panel of the Patient Demographics template.
