Set General Properties for Multiple Fields
You can set certain properties at the same time for multiple fields of the same or different field type on the General Field Properties window.
- Do one of the following:
- Select the first field, and select CTRL as you select the other fields. When all the fields are selected, right-click, and then select Properties from the shortcut menu.
- Select SHIFT as you select each field, and from the View menu, select Properties.
The General Field Properties window opens. - You can set the following properties depending on applicability to the selected field types:
- To hide the field when the template is opened, select the Hidden check box.
- To enable the label through tabbing, select the Tab Stop check box.
- To set the size manually, select the Auto Size check box.
- To enable the Click and List Pick events and resulting actions at run time, select the Enable Click check box.
- To copy data from one encounter to another, select the Copy Data Forward check box.
- To underline the label text, select the Underline check box.
Underline is selected by default. You can clear the check box to display Active Text as a regular font.
- To check for the spellings, select the Enable Spell Check box.
- To reposition and resize the field on the template, do the following:
- Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes.
- Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes.
- From the Style list, select one of the following:
- Normal
- Read Only
- Required
- From the Align list, select one of the following:
- Left
- Center
- Right
- Select a standard color from the Text, Text Hover (Buttons), Background, and Alternate Row list, or create a custom color.
- If applicable, enter the caption and select the case from the list:
- Lower
- Upper
- Sentence (first word starts with a capital letter)
- Title (all words start with a capital letter)

- Select OK.
