Manage Communication Settings
The communication settings enable you to modify call types, panels, and panel items.
Open the
Hosted Component Field Properties
window in one of these ways:
Double-click an inserted Communication component field.
Right-click an inserted Communication component field to display the shortcut menu, and select
Properties
.
Select the
Settings
button.
The
Settings
window opens.
Select the applicable profiles and call types.
Select
Save
if you add or update any communication settings.
Select
Close
.

Communication Profiles
The communication profile enables you to add, update, and view profiles. Version 1.0 is the default profile and you can restore all panels and panel items with the Restore Defaults button. You cannot restore panel and panel items for other profiles. The communication profile properties are defined for using Communication in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Communication Component Overview
The communication component enables you to add or modify panels of default call types, and create profiles. The panel and panel items can be added or removed for the respective profiles. The Restore Defaults button enables you to restore the default profile settings for panels and panel items. Update a Communication Panel Item
You can change any of the settings for a communication panel item. In the Panel Items tab of the Edit Panel window, select a panel item. The properties for the selected panel item appear. You can view the properties in a categorized or alphabetical list. If necessary, enter a new panel item name in place of the current one in the Name box. This name also replaces the existing name in the Items section. Note: Do not use an existing panel item name. If necessary, update the fields, as described in Add a Communication Panel Item. Update a Communication Profile
You can change any of the communication profile settings. You should not use an existing profile name and profile description. On the Profiles window, select the profile. The properties for the selected profile appear in the Properties section. You can view the properties in a categorized or alphabetical list. If necessary, enter a new profile name in place of the current one in the Name box. Enter a new profile description in place of the current one in the Description box. This name also replaces the existing name in the Profiles section. Select Save. Select Close if you have completed all actions on the Profiles window. Parent topic: Communication Profiles

Add a Communication Panel
On the Edit Panel window, select Add. In the Panels section, New is added to the top of the list. The Properties section displays the default values for a new panel. View the properties in a categorized or alphabetical list. In the Name box, enter the name in place of New. This name also replaces the default name in the Panels section. Note: Do not use an existing name for a panel. In the Display Next box, select the panel from the list. This panel appears next at the runtime. In the Header box, enter a header in place of New. This is the panel header. In the Width box, enter a width. This is the width of the panel. In the Required box, select the value as True or False. This validates the panel when you save. True : Required or mandatory value in the panel. False : Optional value in the panel or the value is not mandatory. In the Select Mode box, select any one of the values: Single: You can only select one panel item in the panel. Multi : You can select multiple panel items in the pa
