Fields Toolbar

The Fields toolbar enables you to add new fields to a template. Quick Action Toolbar

The Quick Action toolbar enables you to quickly set up selected field actions (triggers). The toolbar displays buttons for the available triggers in the following order: Patient Procedure Patient Allergy Patient Diagnosis Patient Problems Patient Lab Order Patient Medication Alert Assign Field Value Upload Extended Data Launch Template Show Items Hide Items Change Field Style Change Field Color Enable Controls Disable Controls Note: The Quick Action toolbar is disabled on NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine that are locked down. Template Properties

You can set up the following template properties: The Fields Tab Order tab enables you to set up the order for tabbing through template fields. Unless you enter a specific order, Template Editor default tab order to the sequence in which the fields were created. The Font and Color tab enables you to set the Template font, font style, size, default text color for all newly created labels on the template, and template background color. The Background Image tab enables you to display a background image on a template in high resolution (more than 256 colors) or in low resolution (256 colors). The Preferences tab enables you to set up preferences for the Use Alias template, Sidebar template, Popup template toolbars, Template size, and Collapsible panels on your templates. The Comments tab enables you to add comments to a template snippet or sub template. Format Toolbar

The following table describes the buttons on the Format toolbar from left to right. Toolbar Button Function Color Displays the Color window. Setting up User Preferences

You can set up your own user preferences. The General tab enables you to set preferences for template background color, auto save, messages for overlapping active images, and data grid colors. The Check Box tab enables you to set up default text and numeric values to be used for check boxes. The Edit Box tab contains a setting to enable a 3D Look for the border of all edit fields. The 3D Look outlines all data fields, except for read-only fields, in a three-dimensional border instead of a two-dimensional border. The Active Text tab enables you to set up the default colors that indicate whether Active Text was selected or unselected. Layout Toolbar

The following table describes the buttons on the Layout toolbar from left to right. Toolbar Button Function Pop-up Template Position Enables you to position Popup templates on the screen. Alignment Aligns the selected fields right, left, top, or bottom. Center Centers the selected fields vertically or horizontally. Spacing Provides the selected fields with even spacing either vertically or horizontally. Make Same Makes the selected fields the same width, height, or size. Swap Panels Swaps the position of two selected collapsible panels. The fields on each panel are retained when the panel is switched. CAUTION: In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, for the current logged-on user, the collapsible panels appear in the order the template was initially saved in Template Editor. If panels are swapped again, the latest saved panel order appears only if: The current user right-clicks the panel and selects Panel Defaults.
