Add a Group

You can create a group with template and sub-template controls on the #Groups window. Open Template Editor. Open the required template or sub-template. On the main toolbar, select #Groups .The Group Detail window opens. Select Groups button.The #Groups window opens displaying the user-created and available implicit groups in the system for the selected template or sub-template. Enter the group name in the Name field. Select the required control type from the Control Type Association list. Note: By default, the control type is set to None. Enter a comment to represent the group in the Comment section. Select Add.The group is added. Select OK. On the Group Detail window, select the added group from the Group list. To filter the template fields, select the required field type from the Filter list. Note: By default, the filter is set to All. In the Available Template Fields section, select a field to add to the group. Note: If you want to select multiple fields, select and hold SHIFT, or C

Update a Group

You can update a group with template and sub-template controls on the #Groups window. Open Template Editor. Open the required template or sub-template. On the main toolbar, select #Groups .The Group Detail window opens. Select Groups button.The #Groups window opens. Select the existing group and make the necessary changes. Note: You can not update the implicit groups of a template. Select Update.The group is updated. Select OK. Select the updated group from the Group list, on the Group Detail window. To add the fields to the group, select the required fields from the Available Template Fields section, and then select Add->.The selected fields are added to the Fields in Group section. To remove the fields from the group, select the required fields from the Fields in Group section, and then select <-Remove.The selected fields are removed from the group. View the list of Groups

You can view the list of existing groups for a template and sub-template on the Group Detailwindow and Snippets & Sub Templates panel. Open Template Editor. Open the required template or sub-template. To view the list of groups from Group Detail window, select #Groups on the main toolbar, and then select the Group list.The list displays the available groups. To view the list of groups from Snippets & Sub Templates panel, do one of the following: On the Main toolbar, select Snippets & Sub Templates . From the View menu, select Snippets & Sub Templates. The Sub Templates window opens on the Template Editor main window. Select #Groups from the Type list.The #Groups pane displays available groups for the selected template. To filter the groups as per template type, select Filter list, and then select the required template type.The group list filters according to the applied filter. Set Up a Trigger for the Group

You can set up a trigger for the existing group on the #Groups window. You can also update and remove the triggers, if necessary. Open Template Editor. On the main toolbar, select #Groups .The Group Detail window opens. Select Groups button.The #Groups window opens. Select the user-created group from the list. Select Triggers.The Triggers window opens displaying the previously created triggers for the group. If no triggers existed for the group previously, the trigger section remains blank. Select Add New.The Trigger Info window opens displaying the group name in the Field list and control type association in the Event list. Note: The Start and End fields are not applicable for groups. Select the action type from the Action list.Based on the selected action type, the related window opens. On the related trigger action window, set up an appropriate trigger, and then select OK. Template Groups

You can use the #Groups on the Template Editor main toolbar to group the template and sub-template controls such as labels, edit fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, and so forth. You can set up a single trigger on a group instead of setting up n number of the same triggers for the individual controls to reduce the design time and maintenance of a template. The fields in the groups are limited to the control type. To create the appropriate events and actions (triggers) for a group, you must select the required control type from the Control Type Association list in the #Groups window while creating a group. If the control type is none then you can not apply a trigger to that group. However, you can use it to replace the field lists in triggers such as show, hide, field color, enable, and change field style. Note: You can not select more than one control type for a group. Delete a Trigger

To open the Triggers window, do one of the following: Right-click anywhere on the template, and then select Triggers from the shortcut menu. Select the Trigger icon on the Main toolbar. From the View menu, select Triggers. Select a specific field within the template. Select the Trigger icon on the Main toolbar, or right-click the selected field, and then select Triggers from the shortcut menu. Select the trigger you want to delete. Select Delete.
