Document Viewer Preferences

You can set preferences for your document viewers by document type. The Machine Settings/Document Type Viewers section displays the current viewer for each document type. If necessary, select another viewer from the list for each document type. The following viewers are available: RTF Documents. TX Text, Word Application Text Documents. TX Text, Word Application Word Documents. Word Application Unknown Documents. TX Text, Word Application Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you use the TX Text document viewer as your default for all types of documents. When you open a HED format document, it is converted to RTF format in real time and the resulting RTF file is displayed in the TX Text viewer. Parent topic: Set up Documents Preferences

In the User Settings section, set your preferences for the spell checker and default layout view of TX Text documents. For the TX Text Viewer only, you can set up the default view for how your TX Text documents display in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the User Settings section, select one of the following view options from the Default TX Text View list: Normal View Page Layout View Word Wrap View Note: Normal View is the default. You can set up documents preferences for: Viewers by document type A default generator and a default printer for documents launched from a template trigger and generated offline using the Document Queue utility Checking spelling in documents (TX Text viewer only) Default layout view of TX Text documents Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select Tools and select Preferences. The Preferences window opens. Select the Documents tab. Set up the applicable preferences in each section. To save preferences, perform one of the following: Select OK to save the preferences and close the window. Select Apply if you want to continue setting other user preferences on tabs in the window.
