Set Up Default Values for Medications in the Favorites List
You can configure default values for the Sig, including Refills, Units, Quantity, Duration, PRN, Limit Renewal, and Generic OK fields for any medication saved in your Medication Search Favorites List.
Open the Medication Search window.
Select a favorites list.
Select a medication.
Right-click the medication and then select Edit.
The information for the selected medication appears.
Enter your changes.
For any oral liquid medication added to the list, the Units field automatically displays Milliliter and cannot be changed. If you are modifying an oral liquid medication that already exists in your Favorites list and the Units field is not set to Milliliter, the field becomes red to notify you to correct the field.
Set Generic OK to Yes to automatically select the Dispense As Written check box when the medication is selected.
If you change the Duration, select the Calculator button to auto-calculate the Quantity.
Select Save.
