View Medication Version

Medication Updates

NextGen Healthcare provides regular medication updates. The medication updates are available for download from the NextGen Healthcare website. You must ensure your medication drug database is up to date. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Drug Interaction and Medication Update Utility User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The drug and medication data available in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, including medication name, dosage, National Drug Code (NDC) ID, interactions, and patient education information, is provided by the third-party provider, First Databank, Inc. NextGen Healthcare provides regular medication updates available for download from NextGen Healthcare Success Community. You must ensure that your drug and medication database is up-to-date. If you open the Medications module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR when the drug and medication database is not updated for 90 days or more, the Medication Module Drug Database Warning message window warns you that the drug database might be out of date. About Medication Update

NextGen® Enterprise EHR receives immunization information from First Databank, a third-party vendor. This content is typically released on a monthly basis, but is accelerated to include the codes of newly approved vaccines, if available. The first monthly package containing COVID-19 vaccine code sets was released in December 2020. New codes that are added in anticipation of potential vaccine availability under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), are available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) webpage. Note: To ensure that your system contains the latest COVID-19 vaccine content, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Medication Update.
