Medication Duplication

A medication prescribed to a patient could be already prescribed to the patient. If such instance occurs the Drug Interaction window opens.

The window lists the duplicate medication.

You must acknowledge all drug interactions and select a reason for overriding the warning before you can add the medication. The medication interaction process displays drug interactions according to the display levels set for the system and a specific user.

The medication interaction process does not perform checks on user-defined medications. If the Enterprise option to check for interactions across practices is enabled, the medication interaction process checks for possible interactions across all practices.

If you cancel out of the Drug Interaction window, your action is audited and you must enter a reason.
