Growth Chart Graph Menu

Command	Description
Plot Premature	Patients who are considered premature and have a gestational age of 50 weeks or less default to the premature plot. A check mark indicates that this plot is adjusted automatically for prematurity. Premature plots are not generated for Turner syndrome patients.
Plot (Age range)	Displays the age range(s) that can be plotted for this type of graph. The following age ranges may be shown depending on the patient's age and type of graph: 0-24 months, 0-36 months, 2-18 years, 1-20 years, or 2-20 years. A check mark indicates the age range currently plotted. You can select another age range, if available.
Age Adjusted	This command is not applicable to premature growth charts or a Weight for Length growth chart. It may not be active for other types of growth charts. Manually adjust the plot using the gestational age, instead of the chronological age, for a patient born prematurely. The adjusted age is calculated by subtracting the gestational weeks from the full-term weeks to determine the weeks born prematurely. Then the result is subtracted from the chronological age. For example, for an 8-week old child with a gestational age of 34 weeks, the calculation is (8 - (40 - 34)) = 2 weeks. The graph is adjusted to plot the child at 2 weeks instead of 8 weeks.
Metric	For the Age vs. Height, Age vs. Weight, Age vs. Head Circumference, and Weight for Length growth charts, you can view the metric measurements.
Show Citation	Displays a citation for premature, Down syndrome, or Turner syndrome data on the graph.
Options	Displays the Graph Options window to customize the graph interval times and colors.
Full Screen	Displays the graph without the NextGen® Enterprise EHR menu bars and enlarge it to fill the entire screen. You can switch back to the regular view.
Save To Chart	Saves the graph to the patient chart.
Print	Prints the graph on your printer.
Close	Closes the growth chart.

Select Graph Display Options

You can select options to: Change the monthly or yearly interval range on your graph. Change the background, patient, or percentile color on your graph. From the Growth Chart Graph menu, select Options. The Options window opens. Change the interval ranges or colors as required. To apply and view your changes on the graph, select Apply. Generate a Growth Chart from the File Menu

Before you begin Make sure that you have set up Graphing preferences that correspond to the template and field values that data are graphed from. To generate a specialty growth chart, set up the applicable preference for Gestational Age (premature patients), Down Syndrome Indicator, or Turner Syndrome Indicator. To graph a growth chart using a measurement date instead of an encounter date, enter the Measurement Date Column preference. You can also set up preferences to Print Patient Name, Print Patient Date of Birth, and Print Chart Print Time on the generated growth chart. Open the pediatric patient's history in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select Graph, Growth Charts. Growth Chart Examples

The first example shows the standard Age vs. Height growth chart for a one-year-old boy. The second example shows the Age vs. Height (Fenton 2013 Preterm Growth Chart, Girls) for a one-year-old girl. The gestational age is displayed in weeks. The third example shows the Age vs. Height growth chart for a 19-year-old girl with Turner syndrome. The Show Citation option has been selected to show the data source as the Turner Syndrome Foundation and provide the foundation's website address. The fourth example shows the Age vs. Height growth chart for a nine-month-old girl with Down syndrome. Growth Chart Graph Menu

After you generate a growth chart, you can right-click the graph to display the Growth Chart Graph menu. Note: The commands on this menu vary based on the age of the patient and the growth chart type. A command is dimmed if it is unavailable for the displayed graph. Growth Chart Generation from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR File Menu

You can generate the following growth charts for a pediatric patient from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR File menu for either NextGen® Enterprise EHR custom templates or NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates. You do not need to open the template. Age vs. BMI Age vs. Height Age vs. Weight Age vs. Head Circumference Weight for Length Each growth chart shows the percentile where the patient's measurement falls in relation to pediatric peers, represented by a red dot.
