You can enter a patient's historical immunizations manually.
On the immunizations tab, select Historical and select the Past Entry tab.
To display all of the patient's past immunizations, select Quick Entry.
Note: For existing patients, the system displays all immunizations that have been administered in the past and any immunizations that are outstanding (according to your practice's Vaccine Schedule).
To display a patient's past immunizations by a certain grouping, select Pediatrics, Adult, or By Category.
To search for a patient's past Immunizations that are not in the Vaccine Inventory, in the Select Past Vaccines to Add to Patient's Record section, select Search, for example rabies.
In the Selected Vaccine Details section, enter details for the past Immunizations that is required for the Registry, for example, Date Source and any pertinent comments.
Tip: If you select the Comments field, a green check mark displays in the next cell. To apply the selected vaccine comments to all editable rows, select the check mark.
Note: For multi-dose vaccines, each component displays on a separate row.
Note: You cannot change columns and rows displayed in gray.
To enter the date, select the Date column and enter or select a date from the calendar.
You can enter the date manually using any of the following format options:
By Year
By Month and Year
By Month, Day, and Year (that is, MM/DD/YYYY)
Note: Future dates and dates prior to the patient's date of birth are not valid.
To enter the Immunization's source, in the Source column, do one of the following:
Select the down arrow in the cell corresponding to the immunization.
If the source is the same for all of the patient's immunizations, select the source from the Source list at the top of the Select Vaccine Details section. For example, a patient's past immunizations are derived from a School Record.
Enter any other pertinent information, if necessary, such as Comments, Brand, Lot Number, NDC ID, or Amount.
Select the appropriate Save option to complete the Historical Immunizations entry:
Note: If you have not selected a Registry in File Maintenance by selecting EHR, Practice, Preferences, Orders Module, and then the Imm tab, you can save Historical Immunizations without specifying a registry.
Save & New: Saves changes, refreshes the window, and enables you to select and update more historical immunizations.
Save & Close: Saves all changes.
Note: The system updates the Immunizations order and the registry, as required.
