Lab and Radiology Test Result Sign-off

On the Orders Summary tab, orders with a status of Assigned can be signed off. You can add sign-off comments in the Validation Sign-off window before you save the order. After you save the signed-off the order, it appears on the Orders Summary tab with a status of Signed-off. You can access the signed-off order on the Orders Summary tab and enter additional sign-off or tracking comments in the Sign-Off and Tracking Comments section, if necessary. You can set up the sign-off rights for the providers in your practice. Adding and Tracking Orders Comments

The Orders Comments Tracking option enables you to add comments for any order type throughout the order lifecycle. For example, you can enter comments about whether a patient attended a scheduled appointment, if one test in a group of tests needs to be rescheduled, or if certain issues regarding an order have been reviewed with the staff. The system captures who added the comment and the time it was added. This provides a real-time log of order actions from initial creation to final result. You can access and add comments for lab, radiology, and immunizations orders. When adding comments for an order, you can select whether the comments should be used for tracking or sign-off purposes. You can access, view, or add comments when performing any of the following Order processing actions: Creating or updating a lab, radiology, or immunizations order. You can add sign-off comments to an order at any point in the order life cycle, such as when creating or updating an order. After an order is signed off, you can still add tracking or additional sign-off comments. The system also displays any sign-off comments that a provider entered in the PAQ. You can also add sign-off comments from a custom practice template with an Orders Management order control. On the Orders Summary tab, select an order without a Signed-off status on the grid. To add a comment, select the Tracking tab. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. To indicate the type of comment, select Sign-off. Enter your comments for the order. If applicable, select My Phrases to select an appropriate phrase. Do one of the following: To simply save the comments, select Save. View or Add Comments from the Orders Summary Tab

You can view and add comments from the Orders Summary tab in the following ways: If comments exist for an order, the Orders Tracking Comments indicator displays next to the order on the Orders Summary tab. To add or view order comments, select the Orders comments tracking indicator next to the selected order and the Sign-off and Orders Tracking section displays the previous comments. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. If an order has no comments, the Orders comments tracking indicator does not display next to the order on the grid. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. You can also add comments for an order or view existing comments for an order by selecting the Tracking tab on the Orders Summary tab. Follow the steps in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order.
