Add Patient Preferences for NextGen® EDI Messaging

The EDI Messaging window is available only to practices that have an NextGen® EDI license. The options in the reminder fields are determined by your system administrator. In the EDI Messaging window, you can specify how the patient wants to receive reminders. NextGen® EDI services use the NextGen® EDI Console to create and send reminders to the patient.

  1. From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Lookup.
  2. In the People Lookup window, select New.
  3. In the Add Person Information window, select the EDI hyperlink.
  4. In the EDI Messaging window, select from the Appointment Reminders, Balance Reminders, and Recall Plans lists.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Select the EDI Notification option.
  7. Enter contact info in Email, SMS (Text), or Voice Reminders.
  8. Select OK.
