Add a Person on the Add Person Information Window
You can add a person on the Add Person Information window in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Add Patient Information window, a person becomes a patient after you add a Chart. To open the Person Information window from NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Lookup. The People Lookup window opens. To open the Person Information window from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select File, then New, and then Person. The People Lookup window opens. To add a person, select New. The Add Person Information window opens. To search for an existing person in NextGen® Enterprise PM, enter the search criteria. Then in the Matching Records list, double-click the desired patient. The Update Person Information window opens. To search for an existing person in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, enter the search criteria and select Find. Then in the Matching Records list, double-click the desired person. Add General Information for Patients or Other Persons
In a person’s or patient’s general information, you must add the first and last name, Social Security number, birth date, sex, gender identity, and preferred pronouns. This general information appears as a header on windows in the application. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Lookup. In the People Lookup window, select New. In the Add Person Information window, enter the necessary details. Select the preferred prefix. To prevent patients with the same birth date and gender, such as twins, from being mistakenly identified as duplicates for merging, select Exempt from Person Merge. Select OK. Add a Patient on the Add Patient Information Window
In NextGen® Enterprise PM, NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and NextGen® Optical Management, you can add a patient on the Add Patient Information window. A person becomes a patient after you add a chart to the person's profile on the Add Patient Information window. To access the Patient Information window: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, go to Step 2. In NextGen® Optical Management, go to Step 3. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, go to Step 4. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Chart. The Patient Lookup window appears. To add a patient, select New. The Add Patient Information window appears. To search for an existing person/patient, enter the search criteria. Then in the Matching Records list, select the patient, right-click and select Open. Demographic Information in a Person or Patient Profile
On the Demographics tab of the Person Information or Patient Information window, you can enter the following data: General Information - includes name, sexual profile, social security number, and birth date. Contact Information - includes phone numbers, email address, and preferred contact methods. Demographic Information - includes marital status, student status, preferred language, religious information, and dental and primary provider. You can also enroll the patient in the Enterprise Chart feature. Insurance Information - includes insurers, authorizations, referrals, and eligibility inquiries. The optional and required fields that display on this window are determined by your system administrator's selections in Enterprise and Chart Practice Preferences. Add Demographics to Patient Profiles
You can add demographics such as the patient's general information, address, contact information, and insurance details. You can also specify if a person is a smoker or veteran on the Demographics tab of Add Person Information window. Additionally you can enroll the patient or person in the Enterprise Chart to view encounters from different practices in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: The optional and mandatory fields that appear on the Add Person Information window can be configured by your system administrator in Enterprise Preferences in File Maintenance. The mandatory fields appear in red color. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar select Lookup or People Lookup The Person Lookup window opens. Select New.
