You can add implantable devices only to unlocked encounters. The information used to create the implantable device record is received from the FDA-created Global Unique Device Identification Database (GUDID).
 
 
  - In the Implantable Devices window, select Add Device.
   
    The Select Implantable Device window opens.
   
 
  - In the search bar, enter the full or partial name of a device.
   
    You can also enter multiple search terms separated by spaces, or you can copy and paste the device's unique device identifier (UDI).
   
 
  - Select Search.
   
    A list of devices matching your search appear on the window. 
    
    
  - Select the device you want to add, and select OK.
   
    The 
Select Implantable Device window closes and the device is added to the implantable devices list. 
    
Note: You might not see all available fields. If any fields do not contain data, the labels do not display.
