Deactivate an Implantable Device Record

Mark an active implantable device record as inactive to deactivate it.
  1. Open the Implantable Devices window and locate an active device record.
  2. Select the record to expand it and verify that you selected the correct record.
  3. To deactivate a device:
    1. Select Modify Device.
      The Modify Implantable Device window opens.

    2. In Device Placed, select the date that the device was placed.
    3. In Device Status, select Inactive.
    4. In Note, enter a note that explains the reason for changing the device status, or provides more details about the device.
    5. Select OK.
    The Device Status displays Inactive. The Notes section tracks all changes to the Device Status.
  4. Select OK.
    The window moves the inactive device below the active devices. The system automatically adds a note stating who deactivated the record and the reason.
