You can enter people that play an important role in the support of a person or patient in the practice. A support role can be a caregiver, an emergency contact, or a next of kin.
- Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient.
- Select the Relations/Role tab.
- In Support Role, select the open menu
icon, and then select New.
- In the Add Support Role Information window, enter the support person's first and last name.
- Select from Relationship, Support Role, and other fields as needed.
- Select OK.
Note: If a person in a new support role has the same last name and first name as an existing support person, a message about duplicate support records appears. To continue adding the new record, you can select OK. To update one of the existing records, you can select Cancel, reopen the existing support role record, and then edit the appropriate fields.
