Add a Support Role

Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Relations/Roles tab. In the Support Role section, select the Open Menu button, and select New. The Add Support Role Information window appears. In the Last field, enter the person's last name. This field is required. In the First field, enter the person's first name. This field is required. In the Middle field, enter the person's middle name. In the Birth Date field, enter the person's birth date. In the Billing Address section, enter the person's address with the following information: Street Line 1 Street Line 2 City State Zip Address Type Note: Items available for selection are from the Address Type master list in File Maintenance. Add a Relationship

Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Relations/Role tab. In the Relationship section, select the Open Menu button, and select New. The Relationship Lookup window appears. Enter the desired Search Criteria to find the relationship. Select Find. All persons and patients that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records list. If no records are found, the following prompt appears: No records were found! Do one of the following: From the Matching Records list, double-click to select the relationship. Select New to add a person record for the relationship. The Modify Relationship Information window appears. Enter and update information for the relationship as needed. In the Relationship field, select the person's relationship to the patient. This field is required. Note: Items available for selection are from the Relationships code table in File Maintenance. To save changes and close the window, select OK

Add a Support Person for a Patient

You can enter people that play an important role in the support of a person or patient in the practice. A support role can be a caregiver, an emergency contact, or a next of kin. Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Relations/Role tab. In Support Role, select the open menu icon, and then select New. In the Add Support Role Information window, enter the support person's first and last name. Select from Relationship, Support Role, and other fields as needed. Select OK. Note: If a person in a new support role has the same last name and first name as an existing support person, a message about duplicate support records appears. To continue adding the new record, you can select OK. To update one of the existing records, you can select Cancel, reopen the existing support role record, and then edit the appropriate fields. Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Relations/Roles tab. In the Relationship section, select the row for the relationship to be used to create a support role. Select the Open Menu button, and select Create Support Role. The Add Support Role Information window appears. Information is filledd from the relationship's demographics. Modify information for the support role as needed.
