Sign off Orders in the PAQ

To view and sign off DM images, access PAQ. Select a DM image associated with a patient. To display the Orders Document Link and Unlink section, select the Orders Module button on the PAQ panel. The system displays the order types and tests based on the order preferences selected in File Maintenance (that is, Order Type and Source). If necessary, you can unlink orders. For example, if a different DM image needs to be linked to an order. Note: You can only unlink an image that has been linked to an order processed in the Orders module If necessary, link an image, by selecting Link or Complete (for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine results). Add any comments, if needed, and perform Sign off for the selected DM Image. The system updates the status of the order or result, as appropriate. For Lab tests processed in the Orders module, the system updates the order status from Ordered to Assigned when the DM image is linked to a test. Scan and Link an Image in DM

Open NextGen® Document Management. Access a document or image using Scan & File or Batches. Select a Document type. Note: The selected Document Type must have the Potential Order Resultcheck box selected in File Maintenance. Select a patient. The open orders (that is, not Signed off or Completed) display. The default Order/Result Linking preferences you selected in File Maintenance appear. Note: In this example, the practice has set up their default view to display Labs and the Order module as the default source. However, for another document type, for example a Radiology image, the user can select the appropriate display options on the Link tab. Select a test order from either the default view or by selecting another order type or order source. If necessary, you can unlink an image from an order. After the provider signs off the Document Management image in the PAQ, you can view the updated status for the selected NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine orders on the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Order Management template. Linking DM Images to Orders

When linking an image in NextGen® Document Management or selecting an order with a linked DM image to sign off in PAQ, users can view active orders from the Order module and NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. When linking a NextGen® Document Management image with an Order module test, the image is stored as a result for that test in the Order module. Linking a NextGen® Document Management image with a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine order updates the status of the order automatically based on the practice preferences set up in the File Maintenance Orders/Results Linking section. Search for Document Management Images to Link

On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed test. To expand the Results panel, select the down arrow. Select the New Documents and Images Entry tab. In the Results toolbar, select Search DM. Select the check box for the image to link. Select OK. In the Results toolbar, select Link. The image is now linked to this test order. Select the Document Status of the document or image from the Document Status list, for example, Pending. To view the linked image, select the Documents, Images, and Urls tab. Sign off Lab and Radiology Test Results

On the Orders Summary tab, select an order with an Assigned status. Note: The system displays the Assigned status in red for orders with test results. The results for the test appear in the Results section of the Orders Summary tab. To sign off the test for the order, right-click the order and select Sign-off from the list. The Validation Sign-off window appears. Enter your User name and Password. Enter any sign-off comments. To sign off all orders with an Assigned order status, select Sign-off All Assigned Orders. Select Sign-off. On the Orders Summary tab, the Sign-off date and Sign-off person displays for the order. The system updates the NextGen Status column to Signed-off.
