Scan and Link an Image in DM

  1. Open NextGen® Document Management.
  2. Access a document or image using Scan & File or Batches.
  3. Select a Document type.
  4. Select a patient.
    The open orders (that is, not Signed off or Completed) display. The default Order/Result Linking preferences you selected in File Maintenance appear.

  5. Select a test order from either the default view or by selecting another order type or order source.
  6. If necessary, you can unlink an image from an order. For example, if a different DM image needs to be linked to an order.
  7. To link the image to an order, select Link or Complete (for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine orders).
    For an existing order, the system includes the image as part of the test result and updates the status. For NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine orders, the system updates the order status to Completed or Result Received (as based on practice preference selections in File Maintenance).
  8. To continue the NextGen® Document Management process, select File.
