Scan and Link an Image in DM
- Open NextGen® Document Management.
 - Access a document or image using Scan & File or Batches.
 - Select a Document type. 
   Note: The selected Document Type must have the Potential Order Resultcheck box selected in File Maintenance.
 - Select a patient.
   The open orders (that is, not Signed off or Completed) display. The default Order/Result Linking preferences you selected in File Maintenance appear.Note: In this example, the practice has set up their default view to display Labs and the Order module as the default source. However, for another document type, for example a Radiology image, the user can select the appropriate display options on the Link tab.
 - Select a test order from either the default view or by selecting another order type or order source.
 - If necessary, you can unlink an image from an order. For example, if a different DM image needs to be linked to an order.
   Note: You can only unlink an image that has been linked to an order processed in the Orders module.
 - To link the image to an order, select Link or Complete (for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine orders). 
   For an existing order, the system includes the image as part of the test result and updates the status. For NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine orders, the system updates the order status to Completed or Result Received (as based on practice preference selections in File Maintenance).
 - To continue the NextGen® Document Management process, select File.
