Change User Preferences
You can change many of the default user preferences within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open Preferences window. Select the tab that contains the preferences to change. Change the preference in the selected tab. Select Apply. Depending on your selections, a warning message may appear, informing you that the preference changes are not in effect until the next time you open the application. Select OK to close the message. Select OK to accept the changes you have made and exit from the Preferences window. To exit without saving changes, select Cancel. Parent topic: User Preferences

Templates Preferences
The Templates preferences enable you to do the following: Select specific templates to include in the Preferred list of templates in the Select Template window. Set up a default template for new encounters and for the Workflow module Appointments window. Assign a 3-dimensional view to read-only template fields. Set up Reference Preferences
The Reference preferences enable providers to enter links for web sites that can be accessed from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules. Enter the URL of the website in the respective fields under the External Provider Reference section. Parent topic: User Preferences

Medical Records Preferences
Use the Medical Records preferences to set up the default provider and location. When the preferences are saved, the selected location and provider are retained the next time when you open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If the location and provider have not been set, when you log on, the Select Location window opens followed by the Select Provider window. These windows also appear if the location and provider are blank when you perform a patient lookup (select the Patient button or Select Patient from the File menu). You can select a different provider for the same location or a different location for the same provider, or change both the location and provider. You can also filter provider selection by the associated location. NextGen HQM Quality Reporting Preferences
The Quality Reporting tab is used for NextGen HQM Clinical Quality reporting in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If you are a NextGen HQM-enrolled provider, you can assign delegates to view your own NextGen HQM Clinical Quality report.
