The CDA Viewer provides the Custom View and Full View tabs:

Custom View and Full View Tabs

The Custom View and Full View tabs provide views of the CDA contents. Custom View provides a quick look at the most commonly useful sections, while Full View enables you to view the full document. Following is a comparison of the features of Full View and Custom View:

Inclusiveness

Even when no filter is applied, displays only the most commonly useful sections of the CDA.

Filtering

When you can create filters, you can only select from a list of the most commonly useful sections.

You can also create filters that determine which entries are displayed within an individual section.

You can create filters for the current user or for all members of a practice.

You can create filters that restrict which sections are displayed. However, in creating the filter, you are free to choose from all the sections in the CDA.

Within each section that you choose to include, all the entries in that section are displayed.

You can create filters only for the current user.

Sorting

You can use a filter to reorder sections, and you can also drag section bars to reorder sections dynamically in an open document.

To reorder the sections, you must create and apply a filter.

Navigation

To jump to any section, you can select one of the section bars in the left pane.

To jump to any section, you can must first scroll to the Table of Contents links, which follow the header section.

Expanding or Collapsing Sections

You can expand or collapse each section in an open document.

When you create a filter, you can also specify whether each section should initially be expanded or collapsed.

Each section is always expanded.

Dates and Times

Displays most dates and times relative to relative to the time zone where the CDA Viewer is running.

However, demographic dates and times, such as for birth dates, are displayed relative to the time zone where the CDA was created.
