View and Print Medication Monograph

To learn more about a conflict between prescribed medications, you can view and print medication monograph. Select Monograph. The Medication Monograph window opens. Medication Monograph To print the available information, select Print. NextGen® Enterprise EHR prints the monograph to the default printer setup for your workstation. Access Educational and Clinical Resources

You can access patient education information, external provider references and other clinical resources from specific web sites that you determine. Note: Before using the Resources feature, you must set up the specific web site URLs inFile Maintenance > Practice Preferences > Resources. Do any one of the following: From the patient's medication list, select a medication. Print Prescriptions

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and open the medication module. Select the medication. Select Print on the medications toolbar. If the Prescribe Elsewhere check box is selected, the Print, Fax, and eRx buttons are unavailable. The Print window opens. Print For Medication, select to print the Selected Medication Only or All Medications for Current Encounter. For Printer, select a printer or select the ellipsis button to open the Browse window. Do one of the following: Select Print to print. Select Preview to preview the prescription. Select Cancel to exit without printing. If you select Preview, the Prescription Preview opens. Print Patient Savings and Education Documents

NextGen Healthcare recommends that the patient receives a printed copy of the patient savings and education documents to ensure medication adherence. When ePrescribing, faxing, or printing a medication that has a savings or education program, you are prompted to print all patient savings and education documents. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Medication module, after accepting a medication with an available program, select Send or Print. The Patient Savings and Education Documents window opens. Patient Savings and Education Documents Note: CureAll is a fictitious medication used for demonstration purposes only. To print the documents, select Print All. The documents print to the printer defined in Tools > Preferences > Medications > Patient Education and Saving Programs. If a printer has not been defined, a window displays the Microsoft® Windows 8 default printer and routes. Note: If you select Close, a message notifies you that patient savings materials will not be printed if yo

Printing Patient Prescriptions

You can print a prescription to hand over to the patient. The following apply: If you print or fax a controlled substance prescription, you can no longer ePrescribe the prescription. If you ePrescribe a controlled substance, you can print or fax the prescription. The printed or faxed report must indicate that the printed or faxed copy is "not for dispensing." If you ePrescribe a controlled substance and the transmission fails, you can print or fax the prescription. The printed or faxed report must display a message that states the prescription was originally sent electronically to a pharmacy. The pharmacy’s name, and the date and time of the eRx message must display. The message must also show that the eRx message failed. If the Verify PIN Universal Preference is set to True, you are required to provide Medication Verification when printing a patient prescription. Print Preview

To preview a patient document before printing it, from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File > Print Preview. The Print Preview window for the designated viewer opens. You can do the following on the Print Preview window: Select the zoom in/out percentage at which you want to view the patient document. The zoom level defaults to Auto to automatically resize the document when the window is resized. Select the number of pages you want to display at a time: one, two, three, or four. Select Close to exit from the Print Preview window. View the number of the page currently in display. If there are multiple pages, select the Left arrow key to go to the previous page or the Right arrow key to go the next page.
