Documents, Images, and Urls Tab

The Documents, Images, and Urls tab provides the following toolbar options. Option Description Available Documents and Images Displays a list of documents or images attached to the current encounter that have already been linked to this order. Refresh Refreshes the documents and images list. Unlink Document/Image/Url Unlinks a document, image, or URL. Full Screen Displays the order result on the full screen. View Document Information

You can view document and encounter information, file properties, and user permissions for a selected patient document on the Encounter History or Categories tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view the properties of a document, do one of the following: Select the Encounter History tab, Select a patient encounter, that contains the document, and select the button to open the Encounter Details window. Select the item to view the properties, and select the button. Popup Menu for a Document Select the Categories tab, To view a category item, do one of the following: Select List View from the list. Select Tree View from the list. To expand all categories; select a category, select Category Options, and select Expand All Categories. To expand the selected category, select . Search NextGen® Enterprise EHR for Documents or Images to Link

On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed test. To expand the Results panel, select the down arrow. Select the New Documents and Images Entry tab. In the Results toolbar, select Search EHR. The search looks for any NextGen® Enterprise EHR documents or images that are associated with the encounter for the selected order. It returns any documents or images found in the Select Documents and Images window. Select the check box for the document to link. Select OK. In the Results toolbar, select Link. The document is now linked to the test order. Select the Document Status of the document or image from the Document Status list, for example, Pending. Select Encounters to Search

You can select a specific encounter date or an encounter date range to include in the search. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Encounter History or Categories tab. Select .The Search Documents window opens. Select the Hide/Show Filters icon.The Look in: filters section opens within the Search Documents window. To select an encounter range, do one of the following: Select a predefined time period from the encounter date list. Select The selected dates from the list, and then select the start and end dates from the list. The Enc Date check box is automatically selected. Parent topic: Search Patient Documents

Search for a Document or Image Outside of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to Link

On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed test. To expand the Results panel, select the down arrow. Select the New Documents and Images Entry tab. In the Results toolbar, select Browse File System A window opens where you can browse and select an external image/document to link. Select Open. In the Category field, select a category for this image/document. In the Description field , and enter a description for this image/document. The document description cannot be longer than 40 characters. Note: You may not use the characters \ / ? % # & < > “ ‘ @ * : { } | + in the Description field name when manually entering a new document or image. Select OK . The document is now ready to attach to this order. In the Results toolbar, select Link. The document/image is now linked to this test order. View Patient Document Properties

You can view document and encounter information, file properties, and user permissions for a selected patient document on the Encounters or Categories tab.
