Generate PDMP Reports to Review Patient's Controlled Substance Information

In the Medications module, select PDMP. A message appears stating that the report is generating. If the request is sent successfully and you have viewing rights, the report automatically generates. If you do not have viewing rights, a message appears indicating the request was sent successfully. If the request fails or displays errors, select Retry to generate the report again or select Cancel to continue. If the request includes multiple states and the request for one or more states fails, the report information appears for the successful states and alerts you for the failed states. Review the report and select Close. The PDMP reports' view is audited by the system. Note: The report remains available for 24 hours. After that, you must generate the report again. PDMP Updates Based on System Administrator and File Maintenance Configurations

The following changes occur based on the File Maintenance and System Administrator configurations: When both the Enable PDMP Gateway and Enable State PDMP check boxes are selected in File Maintenance, on selecting the PDMP button, Bamboo Health PDMP patient reports is requested or generated. When only Enable PDMP Gateway check box is selected in File Maintenance and PDMP Request security right is set to Yes and PDMP View is set as No in System Administrator, then the PDMP is enabled initially and PDMP Viewed via State Portal buttons is disabled in the Medications module. When you select the PDMP button, PDMP Request gets generated and PDMP button gets disabled. When you hover over the PDMP button, it indicates that you do not have permissions to initiate a PDMP Report for the next 24 hours. Validate PDMP Checks for State PDMP Providers

Before you begin Select Enable State PDMP check box in File Maintenance. You must have a Self relationship with the provider. The PDMP Gateway Role and the NPI ID must be set for the provider in File Maintenance. The State PDMP providers, in states that do not support Bamboo Health or do not have Bamboo Health licenses can document the state's PDMP website was checked before prescribing a controlled substance. The providers can validate that PDMP is checked by logging into their State's portal before prescribing a controlled substance in the Medications module. Select Medications. The Medication Module page opens. On the Medications Module page, select PDMP. The PDMP and PDMP Viewed via State Portal buttons appear. Select PDMP Viewed via State Portal. PDMP displays as PDMP Viewed via State Portal. Note: The PDMP updates occur based on PDMP configurations in System Administrator and File Maintenance. You can view the last review date by hovering over both PDMP and PDMP Viewed via State

Prescription Drug Monitoring Program

As a regulatory requirement, states can mandate that you view a patient’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) reports before prescribing controlled substances, such as narcotics, sedatives, stimulants, and drugs of concern. With PDMP, you can receive a detailed list of a patient’s controlled substance history and NarxCare scores at the point of care. The PDMP integrated functionality, using Bamboo Health PDMP Gateway, can help eliminate fraud, risk, and crime while ensuring compliance and increasing patient safety. For this service, you, as a client, must contract directly with Bamboo Health for a small annual provider fee. Some states may cover this fee for their prescribers. The Enable PDMP Gateway and Enable State PDMP check boxes in File Maintenance, enables a PDMP list with the PDMP and PDMP Viewed via State Portal buttons in the Medications module.
