Components in a Practice Template with an Orders Management Order Control

A practice template with an Orders Management order control contains the following components: Filters bar. Displays pre-defined and user-defined filters and the Manage Filters function Top toolbar. Displays order actions for the specified filter. Orders Management grid. Lists all tests that have been ordered for all patients in your practice based on the specified filter. Pre-defined Orders Management Filters

You can choose which orders to view on the Orders Management grid using the following pre-defined filters: Due ( Default ). Displays orders that are due within the next week. Overdue. Displays orders that were due within the last two weeks or that do not have results within two weeks of their expected result date. Unfinished. Displays all unfinished lab and diagnostic imaging orders with a NextGen Status of New for all patients in the practice. Different columns and Top toolbar actions appear based on the filter selected. Open Your Custom Practice Template with an Orders Management Order Control

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR Do one of the following: On the File menu , select System\Practice Template. If available, execute a template field trigger for selecting system and practice templates. The Select Template window opens. Select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select one of the following options: To display all of the available practice templates, select All. If you have a user-defined, preferred list of templates, select Preferred to display them. You can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define your list of preferred templates. Locate and double-click your practice's template with the Orders Management order control. To quickly find the template, select any row in the list, and enter the first few letters of the template name. The first matching template is highlighted in the list. Defining Private and Practice Orders Filters Defining Private and Practice Orders Filters You can create private or practice filters to select the type of order information to display for an individual patient on the Orders Summary grid or for multiple patients on a custom Practice template created with the Orders Management order control. When you create a practice filter, it is available to all users in your practice. To create a practice filter, you must have permission for Allow Updating Practice Filters set in System Administrator > Enterprise Practice > Enterprise Practice > Security Group > Rights > Operations > Orders. To create a private filter, the Allow Providers to Maintain Favorites practice preference must be selected in File Maintenance > Practices Preferences > Orders Module > Lab/Rad.
