Answer AOE Questions for a Test

In the Select Tests tab, select a test that has AOE questions attached to it. Select the button next to the question to open the Test Details tab. The AOE questions associated with the test appear. A question is in bold if an answer is required. If you are ordering several tests for the same test order, and more than one asks the same AOE question, an icon appears before the test name. To display a tooltip, hover over the icon. Do one of the following: Enter the answer in the Answer field. For some questions, select in the Answer field, and select the answer from the list at the right of the Answer field. Select Save or Save & Send. If you try to save without entering an answer, a message appears prompting you to answer the question. If the answer is accepted, the order is saved. Test Details Field Information

Field Description Test Name The test name and the key associated with it. Appt Date/Time The scheduled date and time for the lab test. Charge Indicates whether to post the charge (for performing the test) when the order is saved or sent. Expected Result The expected due date for the lab test results. Users can update this date for regular orders and future orders. Expected Result dates for recurring orders can only be updated after they are released. Test Comment Used to capture any additional information needed about the test. Volume The amount of specimen needed to perform the test. Units The measurement of the specimen (for example, ml.). Collection date Used to record the specimen collection date. The user selects the date that the specimen was collected from the Collection Date list. This default value is the time this field is selected. Source site The site from where the specimen was collected. Source description Any detail about the site from where the specimen was collected. Test Collection Date and Time

The Collection date and time entry is captured on the Test Details tab. If the property Require Collection Date & Time in the System Administrator universal preferences is set to True, an entry is required. The Collection date field value can be selected from the calendar that opens when you select the arrow. The Collection date field has controls built in it to keep you from manually editing invalid information. Parent topic: Test Details Tab

Test Details Tab

In the Test Details tab for your test orders, you can enter the test name, collection details and AOE questions. If you select a test in the Test Name list and then select the Select to display Specimen handling details link, the Specimen Handling Information window opens, showing details on the collection of the test specimen. The detail for the test specimen and AOE questions is entered using File Maintenance when you create the Orders test code. You select Order Tests in Master Files. There is a tab on each record for Specimen Handling where you can input the information for this test. Under the Options tab there is also a section for entering Ask at Order Entry Questions information. In the center of the Test Details tab, in the Collection Date/Time field, you can assign a collection time for the order. Modify the Specimen Details

In the Specimen Collection panel, you can modify the specimen records in the grid. Note: You must select the Specimen collection filter option above the grid to modify the specimen details. In the Specimen Collection panel, highlight a specimen record in the grid. Click Edit. Make relevant changes in the applicable fields. Click Save & Close. The data updates in the grid. Add or Modify a Test Order

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Tests. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open it. Alternately, you can select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. The Modify Order Test Information window displays the Test Details tab. Enter the order test details for each of the listed categories. For those categories that have a folder icon, select the folder and use the resulting window to select items from a list. Select the Specimen Handling tab. Enter the specimen handling information for each individual test order defined. Select the Options tab. Under Update Workflow Task Items, select the users to notify of the test results. These can include the ordering provider, the user who created the order, and an additional user.
