Test Details Field Information

Description

Test Name

The test name and the key associated with it.

Appt Date/Time

The scheduled date and time for the lab test.

Charge

Indicates whether to post the charge (for performing the test) when the order is saved or sent.

Expected Result

The expected due date for the lab test results. Users can update this date for regular orders and future orders. Expected Result dates for recurring orders can only be updated after they are released.

Test Comment

Used to capture any additional information needed about the test.

Volume

The amount of specimen needed to perform the test.

Units

The measurement of the specimen (for example, ml.).

Collection date

Used to record the specimen collection date. The user selects the date that the specimen was collected from the Collection Date list. This default value is the time this field is selected.

Source site

The site from where the specimen was collected.

Source description

Any detail about the site from where the specimen was collected.

Body Site

Specific body details from which the specimen is collected.

Site modifier

Detail that modifies the body site listed for this specimen. For example, the site could be antecubital fossa, and the site modifier could be "right" or "left."

Specimen role

Indicates the role of the sample specimen. Its value can influence processing and data management related to the test specimen.

Additives

Detail on anything added to the specimen.

Collection method

The way the specimen was collected, for example, "Finger Draw."

Specimen storage

Details on how the specimen should be stored (for example, "store in a cool/dry place").

Symbol on AOE question

The symbol is the "only ask once" indicator for AOE questions. If this question is asked by other tests within this order, you would not need to answer the same question again. You only have to answer the question once and that answer is applied to the rest of the tests within this order.

Bold on AOE question

If the AOE question is bold in the list on the Test Details tab, an answer is required.

Question

The AOE question, for example: Patient's Race or Fasting.

Units

A list of possible responses to the AOE question.

Data Type

The format of the answer (such as string or number)

Answer

Where you enter the answer to an AOE question.
