Task Workflow Notification in the Equipment Module
Physicians have to review and sign off on equipment reports such as an ECG, Holter, or spirometry in order to bill them. An automatic Workflow Task notification ability is available in the Equipment Reports module. When an equipment report is:
- Added to a patient’s chart, a Workflow Task is created to notify the provider it exists.
- Reviewed or confirmed by the provider, the associated Workflow Task is marked as completed.
- Deleted, the associated Workflow Task is also marked as deleted.
The following modifications are included in the Equipment Reports module:
- Set the status of the Midmark report to completed when the report is acquired.
- Change the status of the Midmark reports to reviewed when the report is reviewed by a physician.
The Equipment Reports module determines users to be notified in the following order:
- The provider user (if "Notify Provider" is enabled in System Administrator).
- Logged in user (if "Notify Logged In User" is enabled in System Administrator).
- "Order Results Notification" users that can be set up in File Maintenance.
There is one per test normal-priority task notification sent to the pertaining users as if they were a group.
To allow Workflow Notifications, the following preferences are available in System Administrator Universal Preferences.
- Notify Logged In User (a True or False value)
- Notify Provider (a True or False value)
