Prescribing physician of the active medication does not require supervision.	The Supervising Physician list is disabled and displays <Not Set>.
Prescribing physician of the active medication requires supervision and the default physician is selected in File Maintenance.	The Supervising Physician list is enabled and displays <Default Provider>. The name of the default provider selected in File Maintenance appears. The list is populated with rendering physicians who belong to the practice of the prescribing provider and do not need supervision. <Rendering Provider> is the second choice in the lists.

The Supervising Physician list is enabled and displays <Default Provider Invalid>. The name of the default provider selected in File Maintenance appears. The list is populated with rendering physicians who belong to the practice of the prescribing provider and do not need supervision. <Rendering Provider> is a second choice in the list.

Select a Supervising Physician

If a provider who requires supervision attempts to submit a patient prescription electronically and the supervising physician is not selected or is an invalid selection, an error message appears. Select Close and Fix and select the appropriate supervising physician or fax the prescription. Note: When renewing and ePrescribing multiple medications, if a medication needs supervision and has a default supervising physician selected in File Maintenance, the default supervising physician is assigned during send. With a patient in context and a medication selected, do one of the following: Select the Additional Prescription Detail link. Select the Additional Prescription Detail tab. Configure an eRx Supervising Physician

In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Providers. The Providers List window opens. Double-click a provider. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Select the ePrescribing tab. Select Supervising Physician Required. Modify Provider Information Do one of the following: Select a provider from the Supervising Physician list. Providing Practice Access for Provider Master File

The Practice access for provider master file check box, when selected, allows providers to be defined at the practice level, and you can restrict which practices have access to them. Once the practices have been set up with or without access to the selected provider, there are specific areas in the application where that practice, depending on its access, will or will not see the provider. The areas are: The Referring Physician field in Add/Modify Appointment window. The Physician Referring field in Eligibility Referral Lookup window. The Additional provider field in Charge Entry window. Note: The Additional provider field is dependent on the Addtl provider selection in the Charge Entry Preferences. If the check box is selected and All providers is also selected, then the access to the providers listed in the Additional Provider field is determined by the practice access settings. Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences Field Descriptions

The following table describes the fields in Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences When Scheduling Appointments Field Description Do not allow checkin of future appts Select this check box to prevent users from checking in patients and creating encounters for future dates from the Appointment Book or Appointment List (in the Appointment Lookup window). Add a Patient Provider

Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Provider tab. Select the open menu , and select New. The Add Patient Provider window appears. Providers Practice Tab

If the provider is a rendering physician for your practice, then select the Rendering Provider at this Practice check box. The check box enables the remaining fields in the Practice Provider Information section. Note: The provider information entered on the Practice tab applies only to the practice that you are currently logged into. If the provider is a rendering provider at more than one practice, then the information must be entered for each practice.
