Special Sort Data Sheet

NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to sort data sheet columns at run time for display purposes only. You can sort data sheets by column in ascending or descending order by selecting the header or using the Sort Special command. If you use the Sort Special command and select a specific column, the ascending/descending order is applied to that column. If you do not select a column, the ascending/descending order is applied to the first column by default. Note: If you are using a Data Flow Sheet, it is sorted by encounter dates, either in ascending or descending order. You cannot save the user-defined, column sort order; templates always default to the column sort order set up in Template Editor. You cannot sort a stored procedure data sheet column by selecting its header or by using the Sort Special command. Open a template. Right-click in the data sheet, and then select Sort Special. The Sort Special window opens. If a sort order was previously set up, a key icon and superscript number

Sort the Procedure Documentation and Findings Values

You can change the order of the sections, subsections, and the right grid values using the Documentation panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. In Select Template, select the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All.A list of practice templates opens. Select Procedure Documentation Config and select OK. On the Procedure Documentation Config practice template, expand the Documentation panel. Select Procedure and select a procedure from the list, and then select Procedure documentation or Procedure findings. To sort a value in the left pane: Select the Enable sort checkbox. Select a value from the left pane. Select promote or demote below the left pane, and the selected value moves to a new position. Note: If you attempt to sort a section linked to another section, an alert message appears to confirm the changes. You can select the information icon to view information on the section order. Sort Lookup Results

The default sorting for the lookup results is by Name in ascending order. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, do one of the following to open the Patient Lookup window: On the main toolbar, select Chart. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Charts. Patient Lookup Window Enter the details in the Search Criteria fields to find the desired person or patient. You can use multiple parameters. For example, you can enter part of the last and first names, and birth date. Note: Fields with the Lightning Bolt indicator are for direct match searches and cannot be used with other search criteria. Select Find. All existing person and patient records that match the search criteria appear in Matching Records. To change the sorting order, select any column header. An up arrow icon appears next to the column name, indicating the lookup results are sorted by that column in ascending order. To sort by the same column in descending order, select the column header again. A down arrow icon appears next to the column

Change the Order of Items in the Sections Grid

You can change the order of the Sections grid by moving individual rows or by sorting alphabetically. The changed order reflect in the runtime template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the ASC Procedure Config practice template and expand the Configure Procedure Indications panel. To modify the order of the sections, in Sections, select the Change Order checkbox. The Select row to move indication appears on the section grid. Select the row to move. Select the position in the grid where you want to move the selected row. The row is moved to the selected position. To display the Sections grid in alphabetical order, sorted by the Section Name column, select the Sort alphabetically checkbox. The list is sorted alphabetically, and the updated order appears in the Procedure Indication window during runtime.
