Multiple Instances

You can set up the same time to release future and recurring orders for multiple practices associated with an instance. If you are a practice or enterprise with a large number of associated practices, you may need to set up more than one instance, such as by region. Your practice can run multiple instances on one machine. CAUTION: If you set up more than one instance, each Instance name must be unique. If you create a duplicate name for an instance, the system displays an error. Practice A has 30 associated practices, which are located in different regions and time zones. To create different time schedules for these practices, Practice A needs to set up three instances, such as Lab Region 1, Lab Region 2, and Lab Region 3. The instances can run on the same machine according to the scheduled times for each instance. Set up the Orders Auto Release Utility

To set up the Auto Release criteria for your practice, on the Auto Release Form window, select the Plus + sign. The Details window opens. For the Instance Name, enter your practice's user-defined name. For the Process Time, enter the time the system releases the future and recurring orders. The system releases the future and recurring orders based on the due date selected when the order was created in the Orders module, and according to the number of days specified in File Maintenance Auto Release Orders Due In practice preference. For example, if you set up 3 days in the Auto Release Orders Due In field, the system releases the order 3 days before the scheduled due date. In the Practices section, select the practices for this Instance. Select Add. The Auto Release Form window displays the added instance (that is, the practice's user-defined name) and the process time. Select Activate Selected Instance. The Security Log On window opens. Create Multiple Instances for the Order

On the AutoReleaseForm window, you can create multiple order instances for your practice to release it automatically multiple times. However, you must restart the Windows Service after the addition or change of instances. Select Start , and enter Command Prompt. Right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. The Administrator: Command Prompt window opens. Enter the appropriate directory to change to the NextGen root folder. Note: Ensure that your changed directory has the NextGen root folder. In Command Prompt, enter NextGen.EMR.Lab.AutoRelease.exe "1". Command Prompt with NextGen Directory Note: The parameter 1 is passing for invoking the Auto Release Utility user interface. The Auto Release Utility integrates with the Orders module to track future and recurring orders scheduled for sending across lab or radiology interfaces.
