Set up the Initial Module Preference

The Initial Module preference enables you to select a module to open when you log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. By default, the Main window opens after you initially log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If the Initial Module on Close Patient Universal Preference is set to True by your system administrator, this preference enables you to select a module to automatically open when you close the current patient. Open the Orders Module

You can open the Orders module from Top Toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to create and manage your orders . You can also access orders from the applicable templates if you are using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to place orders. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window opens. To open the Orders module, do one of the following: Select Orders on the Quick Buttons panel. Orders Module Practice Preferences

You can set a number of practice preferences for the Orders module in NextGen® Enterprise. From the Application Launcher, select File Maintenance > System > Practice Preferences. On Preferences List, select the Orders Module. For information about the Order module settings, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen Enterprise EHR. Open the Specialty Configuration Home

You can open the specialty configuration homepage using the file menu. Open the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. From the File menu, select System / Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. Select Template Note: By default, the System tab is selected, and preferred templates are displayed on the Select Template window. If the *Specialty Config Home option is not displayed in the preferred templates list, select All in the Show section.All system templates are displayed. Customize the Initial Tab View in the Orders Module

When you open the Orders module, the Results tab appears by default. You can set up a user preference to display a different tab as the default. For more information on Orders user preferences, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Layout and Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Main menu, select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences window opens. In the General tab, under the Orders section, in the Initial View list, select one of the following: Results Flowsheet Orders Summary Immun - Chart Immun - Recommendation Immun - Registry Select Apply and then OK.
