Immunizations Summary Report Types and Use

The Immunizations Summary report can display immunization adult and pediatric data in the following formats: Immunizations Summary Report (original format). This report presents vaccine information vertically and lists vaccines in alphabetical order. Immunizations Summary report (CDC format). The Immunizations Summary report (CDC format) presents vaccine information in a horizontal format with vaccines sorted in the standard Center for Disease Control (CDC) schedule. This format enables users who are familiar with the CDC format to more easily locate vaccine information. Immunizations Detail report: To provide more detailed information about administered immunizations for your practice or other practices, you can generate the Immunizations Detail report. This report includes information for each vaccine group, such as Dose, Vaccine Status, Vaccine Manufacturer, Lot Number, Administering Provider, and Date Administered. Pre-Setup Considerations for Immunizations SAP Crystal Reports

Two forms of SAP Crystal Reports can exist in your database: the standard set of SAP Crystal Reports for NextGen® Enterprise EHR and custom SAP Crystal Reports (if created by your practice). NextGen Healthcare has developed an update process for all default SAP Crystal Reports used by NextGen® Enterprise EHR for Immunizations data and it is included with the upgrade. Before you can generate and print the reports, setup is required in the NextGen System Administrator. The reports must also be loaded in your database before you can access and set them up. Additional Fields on the Immunizations Summary report

To enable practices to view additional information on the Immunizations Summary report, technical staff can use the SAP Crystal Reports application to add any of the following fields to the report. After the user adds these fields in the SAP Crystal Reports application, they display in the Immunizations Summary report header when the report is generated in the Immunizations module. You can select to add all or any of these fields, as needed by your practice: Location_id: Displays the current location where the report is generated. Provider_id: Displays the current provider. Encounter_id: Contains the Encounter_id. CAUTION: Adding these fields to the Immunizations Summary report is an advanced reporting feature and requires knowledge of the SAP Crystal Reports application. Only your practice’s technical staff, who work with Custom SAP Crystal reports, should perform this function. Copy the Immunizations Detail Report to the NextGen Root Directory

CAUTION: You can select only one report format (that is, original, CDC format, Detail) when copying the Immunizations Summary report to the NextGen Root directory. If you select the Immunizations Detail report instead of the Immunizations Summary report (original or CDC format), it is the only report that the user can generates from the Immunizations tab toolbar. Access the report file (vaccineSummary.rpt) from the Distributed Reports, Crystal Reports, Orders Reports list. Copy the report file to your practice’s location for SAP Crystal reports. Save the report as vaccineSummary.rpt. Note: For the Immunizations Summary report, copy the reports from \Distributed Reports\Crystal Reports to your Reports path. This path is defined in System Administrator > View > Universal Preferences > Reports > Reports Path. After the upgrade, copy all of the updated SAP Crystal Reports from your NextGen Root directory to the location used for SAP Crystal Reports by your practice. For the Immunizations Summary report types (that is, original, CDC format, and Detail), copy the reports from \Distributed Reports\Crystal Reports to your Reports path. Tip: This path is defined in System Administrator > View > Universal Preferences > Reports > Reports Path. Determine which Immunization report your practice needs to generate when administering Immunizations in the Immunizations module (that is the Immunizations Summary report, Immunizations Summary report (CDC format, or the Immunizations Detail report). Select the appropriate Immunizations report to copy to the NextGen Root Directory. Save the file. Select the printer.
