Set up the 3D Look for the Template Fields Preference

The 3D Look check box on the Templates tab is selected by default to enable a 3 dimensional view for read-only template fields. All shared template fields display as a basic 2D representation. NextGen Healthcare suggests you keep the 3D Look on. To disable the 3D Look, clear the 3D Look check box. Parent topic: Templates Preferences

Setting up User Preferences

You can set up your own user preferences. The General tab enables you to set preferences for template background color, auto save, messages for overlapping active images, and data grid colors. The Check Box tab enables you to set up default text and numeric values to be used for check boxes. The Edit Box tab contains a setting to enable a 3D Look for the border of all edit fields. The 3D Look outlines all data fields, except for read-only fields, in a three-dimensional border instead of a two-dimensional border. The Active Text tab enables you to set up the default colors that indicate whether Active Text was selected or unselected. View System and Practice Templates

System and Practice templates store any necessary information without relation to either a patient or an encounter. Do one of the following: From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File, and then select System\Practice Template. If available, execute a template field trigger for selecting System and Practice templates. The Select Template window opens. To open templates of that type, select the System (default) or Practice tab. In the Show section, select one of the following options: All. All of the available system or practice templates. Preferred. Only your user-defined, preferred list of templates. Yo can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define the list of preferred templates. Categories.
