Templates Preferences

The Templates preferences enable you to do the following: Select specific templates to include in the Preferred list of templates in the Select Template window. Set up a default template for new encounters and for the Workflow module Appointments window. Assign a 3-dimensional view to read-only template fields. Setting up User Preferences

You can set up your own user preferences. The General tab enables you to set preferences for template background color, auto save, messages for overlapping active images, and data grid colors. The Check Box tab enables you to set up default text and numeric values to be used for check boxes. The Edit Box tab contains a setting to enable a 3D Look for the border of all edit fields. The 3D Look outlines all data fields, except for read-only fields, in a three-dimensional border instead of a two-dimensional border. The Active Text tab enables you to set up the default colors that indicate whether Active Text was selected or unselected. View System and Practice Templates

System and Practice templates store any necessary information without relation to either a patient or an encounter. Do one of the following: From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select File, and then select System\Practice Template. If available, execute a template field trigger for selecting System and Practice templates. The Select Template window opens. To open templates of that type, select the System (default) or Practice tab. In the Show section, select one of the following options: All. All of the available system or practice templates. Preferred. Only your user-defined, preferred list of templates. Yo can use the Templates Preferences feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR to define the list of preferred templates. Categories. Set Up Template Preferences

You can configure the default and preferred templates to automatically open the templates for an encounter. You can also configure the workflow after opening an encounter from the Workflow Appointment list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences window opens. Preferences window Select the Templates tab. To move a commonly used template in the preferred list, select the template in the Available Templates list and then select the right arrow. The selected template appears in the Preferred Templates list. To select all templates, select the double-right arrow. To set a default template, from the Default Template list, select a template. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends setting the Home Page (fts_home_page) template as a default template which provides a clinical summary of the patient to the provider. Patient Demographic Template

You can configure Patient Demographics template related details in the Patient Demographic Template section. Patient Demographic Template section The Patient Demographic Template section enables you to configure the following: Patient Checked In options - If you select email, tasking, or pt. tracking option, Patient Checked In on the Patient Demographics template opens the corresponding template. For example, if you select pt. tracking option, the system opens the Patient Tracking template from Patient Checked In. The do not use, hide btn option hides Patient Checked In on the Patient Demographics template. Set up Default Document View Preferences

You can set the default view of a document when you open a patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the User Settings section on the Documents tab , select the default view from the Default TX Text View list. Select Apply. Select OK. Parent topic: Documents Preferences
